Olympiapark

The park grounds are open 24 hours a day and are free to enter for everyone. However, specific attractions within the park have their own fees and opening hours. The Olympic Tower, standing at 290 meters, offers an observation deck with incredible views for around 13 euros. You can also tour the Olympic Stadium for a small fee or book a roof climb for a more adventurous experience. The Sea Life aquarium is also located on the site and requires a separate ticket. Most facilities are open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, though the Olympic Tower usually stays open until late in the evening, providing a great spot to see the city lights.

The park is very large and involves a lot of walking, so wearing comfortable shoes is highly recommended. Many areas are hilly, but the main paths are paved and accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. If you plan to visit the Olympic Tower, try to go on a clear day to see the Bavarian Alps in the distance. Be aware that the park can become extremely busy during major concerts or football matches at the nearby stadium, which might affect access to certain areas. There are several kiosks and a rotating restaurant at the top of the tower, but many visitors choose to bring a picnic to enjoy on the grassy hills overlooking the lake.

Olympiapark is located in the northern part of Munich and is very easy to reach by public transport. The most direct way is to take the U3 subway line and exit at the Olympiazentrum station. From the station, it is a short five minute walk to the heart of the park. If you are coming from Marienplatz, the subway journey takes about twelve minutes. You can also reach the park via tram lines 20 and 21, stopping at Leonrodplatz, or tram line 27 to Petuelring. For those driving, there is a large paid parking lot accessible from Sapporobogen. The park is also conveniently located right across from the BMW Museum and BMW Welt.
