BMW Museum

The permanent exhibition is divided into seven thematic houses, covering topics like design, motor sports, and the history of the company. A standard adult ticket costs 10 euros, though a reduced rate of 7 euros is available for students and seniors. For families, a group ticket is offered for 24 euros. While the museum requires a ticket, the adjacent BMW Welt is free to enter and serves as a massive showroom for the latest models. The facility is fully accessible, though some specific guided tours may have limited paths for wheelchairs. You should plan to spend about two hours to see the main highlights of the collection.

The museum is closed on Mondays, so plan your visit for Tuesday through Sunday. Note that the ticket counter does not accept cash, so you must pay with a credit card, debit card, or mobile payment. Large bags and umbrellas are not allowed inside the exhibition areas, but free lockers are provided near the entrance. Photography for personal use is permitted, but flash is prohibited in certain sensitive areas. If you want a deeper experience, guided tours are available in English, but these often sell out and should be booked online in advance. Most of the information plaques are provided in both German and English.

Located in the northern part of Munich, the museum is very easy to reach using the city efficient public transport system. The best way to travel is by taking the U3 subway line toward Moosach and getting off at the Olympiazentrum station. From the station, it is just a five minute walk following the signs for BMW Welt or the museum. If you are coming from Marienplatz, the direct subway journey takes approximately twelve minutes. For those driving, a large multi-story parking garage is available at BMW Welt, which costs around 2.50 euros per hour. Taxis from the city center take about ten minutes depending on traffic.
