Seongsan Ilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong is open throughout the year, with early opening hours for sunrise visits and later closing times in the evening. The trail to the crater rim is well-maintained and can be climbed in about twenty to thirty minutes, suitable for visitors with moderate fitness. From the top, you can enjoy sweeping views of Hallasan Mountain, the surrounding lava fields, grassy slopes, and the endless horizon. Entrance fees are modest, around 5,000 won for adults, with reduced rates for youth and free admission for young children. Parking is available for visitors arriving by car, and small amenities such as rest areas and signage are provided along the path.

Visiting at sunrise is highly recommended, but it means arriving at least forty to fifty minutes early to avoid crowds and catch the soft morning light.
