Kilise Mosque

The Kilise Mosque is located in or near the town of Güzelyurt (in the larger Cappadocia region). The term “Kilise Camii” literally means “Church Mosque”, reflecting its dual heritage. Entry is generally free or very low cost, and visiting hours are typically during daylight—often from about 09:00 until around 18:00. The building remains a functioning place of worship, so visitors should be respectful of ongoing services. From central Cappadocia locations such as Göreme, Ürgüp or Uçhisar, you can reach Kilise Mosque by car or taxi in roughly 30–40 minutes, depending on your base and traffic. If you’re staying in Güzelyurt or nearby villages, local minibuses (dolmuş) may drop you close to the town centre, from which it’s a short walk to the site. If driving, place Güzelyurt on your map and follow signs toward the historic centre; the building is usually well-signposted once you reach town.
