Wish Hill

It is a public viewpoint rather than a formal attraction, so there’s no entrance fee and minimal infrastructure. A network of steps and paths leads up to the summit; you’ll find a small café (or refreshment point) at the top for a drink while you enjoy the view. The best times to visit are during spring and autumn when the landscape is especially colourful and the weather comfortable. The hill is accessible year-round, but some surfaces may become slippery or muddy in heavy rain.

Although Wish Hill is easy to reach, a few tips will make your visit more pleasant: wear comfortable walking shoes as the ascent involves uneven steps and inclines. Bring water and perhaps a light jacket—the top is exposed and can be breezy. Because it’s not a fully commercialised attraction, facilities such as toilets or benches may be limited—so go prepared. If you visit at sunset, arrive a little early to secure a good vantage point and avoid rushing. Also, since it’s a viewpoint near a residential area, be respectful of local houses and paths, staying on the designated route and keeping noise to a minimum.

From your base in Cappadocia (for example in Ürgüp, Göreme or Uçhisar), make your way to the centre of Ürgüp and then follow signs toward Temenni Tepesi / Wish Hill. If you are driving or in a rental car, it takes just a few minutes from Ürgüp’s town centre. Alternatively, you can take a local taxi or minibus (dolmuş) that stops near the hill’s entrance. From the drop-off point you’ll walk up steps and a path to the top. The walk is short but uphill, so if you have mobility concerns you may prefer a taxi to the nearest parking.
