Visiting this landmark is a highlight for many tourists in London. Standard guided tours last approximately 90 minutes and take you through the House of Commons and House of Lords chambers. For 2026, adult tickets for guided tours are priced around £34, while self-guided multimedia tours are approximately £26. Children under five enter for free but still require a ticket. Security is high at the Palace, so expect airport-style screening upon entry. You should arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled tour time to pass through these checks at the Cromwell Green entrance. Large luggage is not permitted, and there are no cloakroom facilities for bags bigger than 60cm x 40cm. Photography is strictly regulated; you can take photos in Westminster Hall and St Stephen’s Hall, but cameras and phones must be put away inside the debating chambers. While there is no formal dress code, smart-casual attire is recommended as you are entering a working government building where officials and MPs are present.

The Palace is situated in the heart of Westminster, making it incredibly easy to reach from anywhere in London. The nearest Underground station is Westminster, served by the District, Circle, and Jubilee lines. When you exit the station, the Elizabeth Tower, famous for Big Ben, will be directly in front of you. Numerous bus routes, including the 11, 24, and 148, stop at Parliament Square. For a more scenic arrival, you can take a River Thames Uber Boat to Westminster Pier, which is just a three-minute walk from the visitor entrance. Cycling is also an option, with Santander Cycles docking stations located nearby at Abingdon Green.
