National Gallery Prague

The National Gallery has multiple locations, but the main exhibition spaces are usually found in the Trade Fair Palace and selected historic palaces in the city center. Displays vary from permanent collections to special temporary exhibitions. A visit can last from one hour to several hours depending on your interest. The museum offers multilingual information, guided tours and educational programs suitable for adults, families and students.

Because the gallery is divided across several venues, check which building holds the exhibitions you want to see. Comfortable shoes are helpful, especially in the larger modern galleries. Photography is often allowed for personal use, but flash may be restricted. The exhibitions can be large and detailed, so plan extra time if you enjoy taking a slower pace. Special exhibitions may require separate or timed tickets.

Most National Gallery buildings are easily reachable from central Prague by tram, metro or on foot. The Trade Fair Palace is accessible by tram from the city center, while the historic palaces are located near major landmarks in Old Town and Hradčany. Taxis and ride-hailing services can drop visitors directly at the entrances.
