Kalekoy Harbour

Kaleköy, once known as ancient Simena, is located between Kaş and Demre in Antalya Province. The harbour serves as the main landing point for visitors arriving by boat. There are small restaurants, gelato stands, and souvenir stalls right on the water’s edge. The highlight is the steep walk up to the castle above, which offers panoramic views over Kekova Bay. Because Kaleköy is car-free, the village has retained its peaceful charm—boats are the only way in or out, adding to its sense of exclusivity and tranquillity.

Since Kaleköy can only be reached by sea, plan your trip according to boat schedules. Bring cash, as many cafés and vendors may not accept cards. Wear comfortable shoes if you intend to hike up to the castle—the path is steep but rewarding. Don’t forget swimwear; the water is exceptionally clear and perfect for a dip near the harbour. The area is small, so a few hours are enough to explore, eat, and relax by the sea.

The most popular way to reach Kaleköy Harbour from Kaş is by joining a daily boat tour to Kekova, which includes stops for swimming and sightseeing. Alternatively, you can drive or take a local minibus to Üçağız village, then hire a small boat taxi across the bay—it’s about a 10–15 minute ride. There’s no road access directly to Kaleköy, which helps preserve its peaceful, untouched character.
