We pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Haller Park (formerly Bamburi Nature Trail). The park is located south of the Bamburi cement plant along the Mombasa/ Malindi highway.
The drive from Mombasa city centre takes an easy 30 minutes depending on the traffic. The park was once a product of the company’s efforts, since 1971, to convert the barren landscape of disused limestone quarries into a vibrant and diverse ecosystem of forest, grasslands, and ponds.
The Park consists of a Game Sanctuary, a Reptile Park, a small demonstration Fish Farm area, a Palm Garden, Crocodile pens, and a giraffe viewing platform, offering a variety of attractions at various points to educate and entertain the over 160,000 visitors who visit the park every year.
There are many birds like weavers, Kingfisher, Storks, Herons, Egrets, Owls, Eagles, Kites, Cranes, Ibis, Sandpipers the list is endless. Haller Park a must-visit for all lovers of birds.
Proceed to Mombasa Cultural villages (Homesteads). This is a unique presentation of the ways of life of the 10 most colorful and diverse rural peoples of Kenya. The tribes featured include Akamba, El Molo, Luo, Rendile, Mijikenda, Kalenjin, Turkana, Kikuyu, Maasai, Pokot, etc.
A visitor completing this interesting one-and-a-half-kilometer walk through the village gets the impression of having walked through the entire rural Kenya in two hours. You will be able to experience the cultural experiences live, participate in traditional songs and dances,engage in cultural activities , savor the delicious traditional foods.
The village has huts, farms, plants, and animals associated with some rural people like cattle for the Masai and crocodiles for the crocodile hunting El- molo people .Among the things they display are huts, utensils, gardens, and the crops they grow in their rural areas.Later, you will be dropped back to your hotel.
