Old Town.
Old Town is a neighborhood of the city of Mombasa, Kenya. Located on the southeast side of Mombasa Island, it covers an area of 72 hectares and is inhabited by Swahili, Arabs, Asians and others. Mombasa Old Town comprises a group of historical buildings dating from the 18th century which combines, African, Arabic and European influences. It was a main centre for trade between Africa and the Arab World, with trade routes even going as far as India and China.
Haller Park.
Haller Park is a nature park in Bamburi , Mombasa on the coast of Kenya. It is a conversion of a heathland quarry into an ecological area. Haller Park contains many species of plants and animals that serve as a recreational area for tourists and locals. Until March 2007, it was home to the Owen and Mzee attraction - the friendship between a hippo and a turtle .
Fort Jesus Museum.
Fort Jesus is a Portuguese fortification in Mombasa. It was built in 1593 by the architect Giovanni Battista Cairati. It passed from the Portuguese to the Turks and back again until it was captured by the British in 1875, who used it as a prison.
