A visit to Slovakia would be incomplete without exploring the Tatra Mountains. This tour offers flexible stops that you can manage yourself if you choose a private tour, or discuss with fellow travelers in a group tour. The key highlights are the stunning Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras and the historic city of Banská Bystrica.
At Štrbské Pleso, a beautiful glacial lake, you'll have time for a one-hour walk. Afterward, you can choose from various activities, such as hiking to Popradské Pleso and the Symbolic Cemetery or taking a cable car to Solisko Peak. Another option is to unwind at one of Slovakia’s famous thermal springs or wellness centers. Tatralandia, the largest aquapark in Slovakia, offers water slides and thermal pools, while Permon sauna world provides a relaxing view of Krivan Peak from the Jacuzzi. For a natural experience, the free thermal spring Kada in Liptovský Ján is a unique option.
History and culture enthusiasts will enjoy additional stops along the way. You can visit the Skanzen museum of traditional Slovak village life, take a boat ride on Liptovska Mara (Slovak Sea) in summer, or explore fun parks like Tatrapolis and Donovalkovo. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, try indoor skydiving at the Hurricane Factory.
We will start the day with a scenic drive from Bratislava, passing through regions like Nitra and the Low Tatras National Park. Upon reaching Strbske Pleso, you'll enjoy the serene beauty of the area. The Symbolic Cemetery, a memorial for those who died in the High Tatras, is another significant stop. The cemetery was founded in 1936 and is now cared for by the State Forests of the Tatra National Park.
After exploring the Tatras, we will continue to Banská Bystrica for a one-hour city walk, where we’ll visit monuments related to the Slovak National Uprising. We’ll enjoy a local meal along the way before returning to Bratislava in the evening. This tour provides a wonderful mix of natural beauty, history, and relaxation.
