Taejongdae

Taejongdae is situated at 24 Jeonmang‑ro, Yeongdo‑gu, Busan. The park is open from early morning around 4:00 AM until midnight, although certain facilities such as the Danubi Train operate on shorter schedules. Admission to the park is free, and the optional Danubi Train offers a scenic ride along a 4.3‑kilometer route, stopping at viewpoints and attractions for a small fee. Key spots in the park include the Yeongdo Lighthouse, Sinseon Rock, observation platforms, coastal trails, small temples, and pebble beaches. The park is perfect for both leisurely sightseeing and more active exploration.

Before visiting Taejongdae, it’s important to prepare for walking on trails and uneven surfaces, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Coastal weather can be windy and misty, making a light jacket and sunscreen essential, especially during summer. The Danubi Train may close in bad weather, so check its operating hours beforehand. A relaxed visit can take between two and four hours, but a full day allows you to explore all trails and viewpoints. Food options are limited within the park, so bringing water and snacks is advisable. Planning for weather and walking conditions will make the experience much more enjoyable.

Taejongdae is located on Yeongdo Island, connected to central Busan by bridge. While there is no direct subway access, it is easily reached by bus or taxi. From Nampo Station on Busan Metro Line 1, several buses head toward Taejongdae, and from Busan Station, buses also provide a direct route. Taxis and ride-share services offer a faster but more expensive option, taking roughly 30 to 45 minutes from downtown Busan. Driving is also possible, with parking available near the park entrance, though weekends and holidays can be crowded. Using a T‑money transit card simplifies bus and metro travel and is highly convenient for tourists.
