General Patton Memorial Museum

The Patton Memorial Pilsen museum tells the powerful story of how Pilsen and western Bohemia were freed at the end of World War II. It is the only museum in the Czech Republic dedicated to the Allied forces’ march from the D‑Day Normandy landings to the liberation of this region in May 1945. Inside, you’ll find a fascinating collection of original artefacts, soldiers’ personal items, uniforms, photographs, and displays showing how the American army advanced through Europe. Exhibits bring history to life with realistic sounds, stories from veterans, and rare pieces that reflect daily life during wartime — a must‑see for history lovers visiting Pilsen.

A recent permanent exhibition traces the Allied forces from Normandy through the Battle of the Bulge and into western Bohemia, showing visitors how these historic movements unfolded.
