Eymir Lake is a calm and scenic natural area located about 20 kilometers south of Ankara’s city center. Surrounded by forests and open green spaces, the lake offers a peaceful escape from urban life and is especially popular with locals on weekends. The lake is approximately 4 kilometers long and sits within the protected land of Middle East Technical University (METU). Eymir Lake is open to the public and mainly used for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, picnicking, and nature watching. The walking and cycling path around the lake is about 10–11 kilometers long. Entry is free for pedestrians and cyclists. Private cars are restricted unless you have a METU access card, but there are parking areas outside the gates. Around the lake, visitors can find small cafés, restaurants, restrooms, and bicycle rental points.
