Pollok Country Park

Pollok Country Park is open daily throughout the year and entry to the park is completely free. It is located in the south-west of Glasgow and is easy to reach by public transport. The park includes walking and cycling paths, picnic areas, riverside views, gardens, and open fields. Inside the park you will find major attractions such as The Burrell Collection museum and Pollok House, a historic country mansion. Parking is available for a fee, but many visitors prefer trains or buses due to limited spaces during busy periods.

Weather in Glasgow can change quickly, so visitors should bring comfortable walking shoes and a waterproof jacket, even in summer. While the park itself is always open, attractions like Pollok House may have seasonal opening hours or temporary closures, so checking ahead is recommended. Highland cattle should only be viewed from a safe distance, and feeding them is not allowed. Dogs are welcome in the park but must be kept on leads near livestock. A free shuttle bus operates inside the park, making it easier to move between key areas.

From Glasgow city centre, Pollok Country Park is very easy to reach. Trains from Glasgow Central Station run regularly to Pollokshaws West, with the journey taking about ten minutes, followed by a short walk. Several local buses also stop near the park entrances. Cyclists can use well-marked cycle routes that pass through and around the park. Visitors travelling by car can access the park via Pollokshaws Road or Dumbreck Road, where paid parking is available inside the grounds.
