Paspatur is located just behind Fethiye Marina, making it one of the most accessible areas in the city. The district is filled with small cafés, souvenir shops, leather stores, and local boutiques. Street signs and pedestrian paths make it easy to navigate, and the area is suitable for all ages. There is no entrance fee, and the streets remain lively throughout the day, especially in the evenings when lights and music create a warm atmosphere.
Wear comfortable shoes, as the old streets are narrow and paved with uneven stones. The area can get busy during summer evenings, so visiting earlier in the day provides a quieter experience. Paspatur is also known for its “eternal spring water,” a local legend saying anyone who drinks it will always return to Fethiye. Many shops accept credit cards, but carrying some cash is useful for small purchases or local snacks.
Fethiye Old Town is within easy walking distance from most central hotels and the marina. Visitors staying in surrounding districts like Çalış, Ölüdeniz, or Hisarönü can take a dolmuş directly to the city center and walk a few minutes into Paspatur. Taxis are also widely available and drop passengers near the main entrance of the old streets.
The best time to visit Fethiye Old Town is late afternoon or early evening, when the temperature cools and the streets become more vibrant. Shops typically stay open until late during the summer season, making it ideal for browsing, dining, or enjoying ice cream. Mornings are quieter and better for photography. Winters are calmer but still offer plenty of open shops and cafés.
