Pyynikki Park and Observation Tower

The park is part of the Pyynikki Ridge, known as one of the world’s highest gravel ridges created by the Ice Age. Access to the park is free, and a small entrance fee applies for climbing the tower. The tower can be climbed via stairs or a lift, but the staircase offers lovely partial views as you ascend. The trails may be uneven in places, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Cycling is restricted to designated paths, allowing walkers to enjoy the forest in peace.

Pyynikki Park is only a short journey from central Tampere. You can walk up the Pyynikki Ridge using the long staircase leading from the city side or take a local bus that stops near the tower area. Parking is available but limited, making walking or public transport the easier option. The route to the park is well signposted and straightforward from most central hotels.
