Fatih Cinili Mosque

The Fatih Çinili Mosque was constructed during the Ottoman period and remains one of İzmir’s most important religious landmarks. Entry is free, and visitors are encouraged to observe quietness and modesty. The mosque sits near Kemeraltı Bazaar and other central attractions, making it easy to combine your visit with a stroll through historic İzmir. The mosque is open daily outside of prayer times.

When visiting, dress modestly shoulders and knees should be covered, and women may be asked to wear a headscarf. Shoes must be removed before entering the prayer hall. Photography is allowed but should be discreet and respectful. Since this is an active mosque, avoid visiting during Friday prayers unless you wish to observe the service. Bring socks for comfort, as you’ll walk barefoot on the carpets.

The mosque is conveniently located in İzmir’s Konak district, just a short walk from the main square and Kemeraltı Bazaar. You can easily reach it by tram, metro, or bus to the Konak stop, followed by a few minutes’ walk. Taxis and rideshare options are also available from most parts of the city. Parking in the area can be limited, so public transport is generally the easiest way to visit.
