Side Ancient City

Side Ancient City dates back to the 7th century BCE and boasts an impressive collection of historical structures. Some of its key highlights include the magnificent Roman Theatre, capable of holding 15,000 spectators, and the Temple of Apollo, a striking monument dedicated to the god of the sun. The city also features ancient baths, a well-preserved agora (marketplace), and towering city gates. If you're staying in Antalya, the ancient city is approximately a 1-hour drive along the D400 highway, heading east towards Manavgat. From Manavgat, the drive is even shorter—only 30 minutes. There are also local buses and taxis available that run regularly to the site from both towns. Once you reach the town of Side, the archaeological site is located near the town center, and most of the ruins are just a short walk away. For a more flexible schedule, renting a car is a great option, as it allows you to explore the area at your own pace.
