Sveti Jakov Beach

Keep in mind that the beach is pebble-strewn, so packing beach footwear like water shoes can make your experience more comfortable. While the beach itself is not crowded, it’s still advisable to visit early or late in the day, especially during the high summer season, to ensure a peaceful experience. The descent to the beach involves around 150 steps, so it’s best to wear comfortable shoes for the walk down and back up. There are no extensive facilities, but the café on-site offers some refreshments.

Sveti Jakov Beach is located about 2 km from Dubrovnik’s Old Town, so it’s a bit of a walk but definitely worth the journey. From the Old Town, head towards the eastern edge of the city, and follow the road that leads to the beach. There are clear signs directing you to the beach, and the walk involves going down a series of steps that lead directly to the shore. If walking is not your preferred option, you can take a taxi or bus from the city center. Taxis are readily available, and many drivers are familiar with the beach location, so they can drop you off near the entrance to the stairs.
