We had an incredible family day out, and our guide Kerem truly made the experience special. Considering he began his day around midnight and dropped us back in Icmeler by 4:30 p.m., his energy and enthusiasm never faded. He was constantly upbeat and shared a lot of useful and interesting information with us. Here’s a full breakdown of the day, along with some practical tips to make your experience more comfortable IMPORTANT NOTES Wear comfortable shoes, as there’s quite a bit of walking involved. There are changing rooms available at Pamukkale if you plan to swim. Keep in mind there are additional entrance fees for Pamukkale. These are mentioned upfront, but it’s good to be financially prepared. Drinks are not included in the package. You won’t go the whole day without access to refreshments, but it’s smart to bring your own water or enough cash to buy drinks along the way. The same coach is used for the entire day, so you can leave personal items on your seat during activities, which is helpful if you bring extra drinks or a bag. The pickup process was seamless, and the coach was clean and comfortable, with effective air conditioning. We had a short stop at a gas station to stretch our legs and grab a drink before continuing to the balloon launch site. Once there, the staff made sure we were well-informed and ready. Their focus was clearly on making sure we had a good time. After our flight and smooth landing, we received a small celebratory drink and a certificate as a keepsake. We then continued on our way to Pamukkale with a stop for breakfast. It was a simple meal mostly bread and spreads like chocolate and honey. As mentioned earlier, no drinks were included, so it’s best to have water or money ready. Before entering Pamukkale, we were informed of the entry fees: approximately £30 or 1350 TL per person for general admission, and an additional 200 TL per person for access to the thermal pools. Kerem gave us a brief guided tour when we arrived, pointing out the meeting point and explaining the site’s layout. Once we reached the thermal pool area, he reminded us of the return time and let us explore freely. We had around three hours to enjoy the site, starting with the thermal pools. There were lockers and changing rooms available, so you didn’t have to wear your swimsuit all day. Photographers were present but not pushy, offering the option to buy photos at the end 250 TL per photo or discounted bundles. Afterward, we visited the famous calcium terraces and shallow springs. Shoes aren’t allowed in this area, so everyone must go barefoot. The ground was slippery and somewhat uncomfortable underfoot, so extra caution is needed. Pamukkale covers a large area, and there’s a lot to see, so comfortable footwear is essential. After our visit, we rejoined the coach and had a buffet style lunch, followed by the return journey to Marmaris with a short break about two hours into the trip.
