Guests are collected from their hotels in Göreme and surrounding Cappadocia towns such as Ürgüp, Avanos, Uçhisar, and Çavuşin in the early morning hours of the flight day, with round-trip transfers included. The comfortable drive to Ihlara Valley, located in southern Cappadocia, takes around one hour.
Although Ihlara Valley is less famous than the Göreme balloon flight area, this lesser-known status works to guests’ advantage by providing better flight availability and more flexible operation days.
When hot air balloon flights in the Göreme region are suspended due to unsuitable weather conditions, many travelers staying in Cappadocia choose Ihlara Valley as an alternative. For this reason, it has become the most popular backup balloon flight location during such times.
Upon reaching the launch site, guests receive a detailed safety briefing from the experienced flight crew. After final weather checks are completed, the balloons are inflated and the flight begins at sunrise.
Only up to 8 balloons are permitted to fly simultaneously in Ihlara Valley, resulting in a calmer, safer, and less congested ballooning experience compared to other Cappadocia flight zones.
The flight lasts approximately 60 minutes and offers stunning panoramic views of Ihlara Canyon, the Melendiz River, and the surrounding volcanic landscape. The serene environment of the valley creates a truly peaceful and memorable balloon flight.
Following landing, guests take part in a traditional post-flight celebration and receive a souvenir flight certificate. At the conclusion of the tour, return transportation to the hotels in Cappadocia is provided.
