Bodrum

Antalya

Antalya is a large resort city located on the Mediterranean Sea. It has an old town with well-preserved ancient city walls, a castle and a beautiful harbour. Most all-inclusive hotels are in Belek and Lara Beach area which is not near the city centre. As Bodrum has smaller sized beach resorts located on a shorter distance of Bodrum’s nightlife. Antalya is much hotter in summer than Bodrum and has a longer warm season. Antalya will be a good choice if you’re planning your holiday in autumn.

Historical sites in Bodrum and Antalya

Bodrum has fascinating ancient sites such as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Mausoleum of Mausolus. Antalya itself doesn’t have big historic ruins, but there are great ancient sites accessible on a day trip from the city, such as the archaeological site of Perge, the amphitheatre in Aspendos and ancient Roman cities in Side.

Airports in Bodrum and Antalya

Bodrum and Antalya have both airports and are equally easy to travel to your accommodation because there are a lot of bus connections. It takes around 50 minutes to go to the centre from Antalya’s airport. Bodrum’s airport is about 30 minutes from the city.

Holiday in Bodrum or Antalya

Antalya is surrounded by mountains which are excellent for outdoor activities like snowboarding in winter, rafting in spring, hiking and climbing throughout the rest of the year except on hot summer days. Also, in Bodrum you can join outdoor activities like rafting, jeep safari and horse riding. If you have time, visit both cities, or even better go on a coast trip because there are gorgeous places to visit in between Antalya and Bodrum.
