Does Icmeler have sandy beaches?

Icmeler is near to the popular resort of Marmais, which is known as a second home for British tourists and other Europeans with its stunning scenery, clear blue waters and lovely beaches.

The area is well developed with a range of hotels, restaurants and pubs with varied menus, sports facilities and organized trips. There’s plenty to do, but if you like the idea of just relaxing on the beach Icmeler is very tranquil and there are several sandy beaches to choose from in the region.

Icmeler Beach

This is a beach with golden sands,stunning views and restaurants that provide very good service along with free sunbeds. The nearby bars, cafes and shops are within walking distance. This is one of the most peaceful beaches with clean, fine golden sand stretching along 6 km of coastline. It’s easy to hop on a dolmuş (a kind of taxi/minibus) or a water taxi to get to one of the other sandy beaches a bit further afield.

Turunc Beach

The nearest beach to İçmeler and just a 15-20 minute ride by water taxi. This is a pebble beach with lots of restaurants and a short walk to the shops. This Blue Flag beach has a backdrop of green hills and mountains with the calm, blue sea in front.

Marmaris Urban Beach

Being the closest to the centre of Marmaris, the hub of tourism in the area, this beach is also the most popular. It is the most urban beach with people of many nationalities. There is no charge for using this beach and enjoying the events organized by the local Municipality.

Long Beach (Uzunyali)

As its name suggests, this is a very long, sandy beach that stretches 10 km all the way to İçmeler. The pedestrian walkway behind the beach is lined with tourist shops for your convenience.

Dalyan/Kaunos Beach

This is a sandy beach with a nice breeze which is welcome in the summer heat. If you join one of the tours to the mud baths, you will be able to spend some time on the beach. If you want to spend longer, you can travel to Dalaman by bus or car then take the water taxi from Dalyan to the beach itself.

Kumlubuk/Amos

These are two bays reachable by water taxi which will take you there in the morning and pick you up around 4pm. Not as many facilities as the other beaches but they have a bar and offer peace and quiet for reading and relaxation.
